Romantic Evening at Broadway Books

Sunet Picnic at the Port of Ashland

The Ashland Riverfront is perfect for a picnic during sunset, as well as a view to talk and spend quality time together. Watch the boats go by while enjyoing the best place to see the sunset. Take a walk around the flood walls to see the murals or admire the large bronze sculptures placed at the entrace of Poage Landing Park. Once the sun sets, go a few blocks down to Cinemark Theaters to watch a movie and get some popcorn or hop in your car and travel to The Cinema at Camp Landing. If you want to cap your night off with some fun, head to Sandy’s Racing and Gaming for some gaming, drinks, and live entertainment.

Dinner for two and a walk in the park

Located in the historic GC Murphy Building in the heart of The District, The Mill has delicious dinner options, such as their famous rigatoni pasta and chicken tacos, along with a shareable (and always delectable) scratch-made cake of the week. The bar has custom cocktails and a craft beer menu that changes weekly. Plan your date on a Tuesday to have your dinner while playing weekly trivia, or on a Wednesday to impress your date with your singing skills during karaoke. If you’re an outdoorsy pair, after dinner take a walk around Central Park or for a more challenging evening head to the top of Ashland Avenue and take a hike around the Charles and Betty Russell Park Trailhead.

Axes, Vikings, and Singo

Spend a full evening at Bombshells and Ales for some scrumptious Barbeque and lots of fun! Their extensive menu includes pizza, burgers, barbecue, and massive milkshakes piled high with candy and cake. Plan your date on a Wednesday to play SINGO, think bingo but with your favorite music, Thursday for Karaoke or a Friday or Saturday Night to hear live-local music! Join the Viking Mug Club to claim your own Viking horn mug and take advantage of exclusive drink deals. Finally, Bombshells is the only place downtown to take your aim and throw some axes any night of the week.

Take your pick

There is so much more Ashland has to offer for your date night, including: grabbing dinner at one of our many local restaurants including The Winchester, Sal’s Italian Eatery and Speakeasy, or Fat Patty’s. If you are looking for live entertainment we recommend catching a show at The Paramount Arts Center or see a local musician at the Tomcat Bourbon and Brewhouse. Searching for family friendly options, try bowling at Malibu Jacks, or solving a mystery and break out of a room at Tri-State Escape, or drop in the Highlands Museum to take a tour through their local history displays and check out the new Clark Family Discovery Center located on the second floor.
